Hi lovelies!
Here I am again--hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was a bit quiet with just a walk through a nature preserve, volunteering, and a lazy, Supernatural-filled Sunday. It's one of my favorite shows :)
I just have a quick post for you tonight, as we in Buffalo brave our first "Winter Storm Warning."
Tonight, I'm going to show you a quick mani I did a few weeks ago, using a polish borrowed from my best friend.
OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It!
A gorgeous metallic foil blue. Nearly a one-coater. It absolutely glows from within and removal was great with barely any staining! Swimsuit...Nailed It! Is from the Miss Universe that came out in 2011. It included Miss Congeniality, It's My Year, and Crown Me Already!
As if this needed anymore shine, I decided to add some bling to it.
I used rhinestones from a Bundle Monster wheel, stuck them on with OPI topcoat and coated the whole thing in Beauty Plus Salon top coat. The rhinestones lasted longer than the polish. It was chipping within a few days. I'm trying to get my nails in fighting condition and it's going pretty well but I'm still having wear time issues.
What do you think? What were your picks from the 2011 Miss Universe collection?
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Thankful for anyone that reads my little corner of the internet :)
xo, ali
Hi, I came here from WPNFF bloggers bootcamp post! I love your easy to read background and I think you're doing an incredible job with your nails. My only suggestion is to try different lighting with your photos - they are a little dark. Otherwise, keep up the great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I definitely appreciate the feedback. I'm working on better lighting situations and grabbing natural light when I can. I appreciate you stopping by :)
DeleteHi! I found my way here from the WPNFF Group Critique post. Your blog seems like it's off to a really great start! I love that you include bits of personal information in your posts (favorite TV shows, volunteering at the SPCA...). I really like feeling like I "know" bloggers I follow rather than impersonal posts.
ReplyDeleteI agree with BeHappyAndBuyPolish's comment about some of your photos being a little dark. I would also add to try taking several different photos. I've found that sometimes seeing the same manicure from a few different angles with a few different types of lighting gives the best overall impression of what the color or nail art looks like. I also want to add that I LOVE your blog name! Dancing Phalanges was one of my favorite Bones moments ever! I can't wait to see more posts from you!
Thanks for the feedback! Every little bit helps :)
DeleteI'm glad that you like the personal touches. I want my readers to get to know the girl behind the polish!
I'm definitely going to work on my angles and "finding the light" as Tyra say ;)
and thanks! Bones is one of my favorite shows and during a recent rewatch, I heard that line and knew it had to be my blog name :)
